NADO Select BU16 made the journey to Boise, Idaho to play in the U.S. Youth Soccer, Region IV, Presidents Cup. Three Cal South teams -- BU14 Downtown SC Black, BU16 NADO and GU14 Platinum FC -- won titles at the 2013 US Youth Soccer Region IV Presidents Cup in Boise, Idaho.
The tournament featured 120 teams that had won their respective State Presidents Cups from 12 different State Associations within US Youth Soccer's Region IV area – Alaska, Arizona, Cal North, Cal South, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
NADO BU16 played in a 3 bracket / 12 team tournament. Nado BU16 secured results of 4-0, 5-0, and 1-1.
Leading their bracket with 2 wins and 1 tie, they advanced to the quarterfinals on June 15th. With the top 8 teams, Nado BU16 first encountered Colorado, and won 4-1. In the semi-finals, Nado Bu16 faced Apple Valley, the very team in which Nado played and emerged the winner, 2-1, in the final President’s Division State Cup game. Momentum and continued dedication led the boys to yet another victory, 1-0.
On Sunday, Jun 16th, the Final Championship game was played versus Juventas United from Nevada. The game was tied at the half 1-1, and the Nado BU16 team and Coach Brian Hiatt Aleu, emerged victorious as the President’s Cup CHAMPIONS with a 3-1 win.
The NADO BU16 Region IV Presidents Cup Champions will now represent Cal South and Region IV in the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Auburndale, Florida from July 11-14, 2013.
